Carmen López Alonso  is an associate professor of history in the Faculty of Political Science at the Complutense University of
Madrid and at the Instituto G. G. Mellado de Investigaciones para la Paz y la Seguridad in Madrid. She is the author of several
books and academic articles, among them the book Hamás: la marcha hacia el poder  (Madrid, 2007).
