Rev. Dr. and Canon Trond Bakkevig

Rev. Dr. and Canon Trond Bakkevig is the Convener of the Council of Religious Institutions of the Holy Land and dean of Vestre Aker, Oslo in the Church of Norway. He has a doctorate from the University of Oslo. He has served as general secretary of the Council of Ecumenical and International Affairs of the Church of Norway (1984-93); as personal adviser to the Norwegian minister of foreign affairs (1987-88); as moderator of the board of the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Oslo (1993-98); and as a member of the central committee of the World Council of Churches (1997-2006). He is currently moderator of the board of the Norwegian Peacebuilding Centre.
