Sandra Gil Araujo is a senior scholar at the Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas (CONICET), Argentina, associate fellow at L’Institut d’Infància i Món Urbà (CIIMU), Spain, founder member of the Migrant Researchers Interdisciplinary Group, and member of the Instituto de Migraciones (University of Granada). In 2010, she was visiting scholar at UC Berkeley, California. Since 2000, Dr. Gil Araujo has been involved in several EU research projects. Her main research interests include: EU and Spanish migration policies and migration control; family migration; Latin American migration; governmentality studies; gender; and transnational perspectives. Among her most recent publications is: “Coloniality of Power, Ethnic Affinity and Migration Policies. The Spanish Case”, in Decolonising European Sociology.
