Nigeria by Talatu Carmen in Flickr

NOREF prepares resources and organizes events intended to support implementation of Security Council resolution 1325 on women, peace and security, which aims to increase women’s participation in all efforts related to peace and security and to strengthen the protection of women in armed conflicts. Among others, NOREF has prepared a mapping study of Norwegian resources and capacities on sexual violence in war and assisted the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the development of Norway’s strategic plan on women, peace and security for the period 2011-13.
