Åshild Falch

Åshild Falch is a Researcher at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO), where her work focuses on postconflict democratization and peacebuilding. Falch has a background in comparative politics, and her main research interests include women’s participation in peace and post-conflict processes, power-sharing, and challenges in transitions from civil war to democracy.

The Sudan Referendum and Neighbouring Countries: Egypt and Uganda

The prospect of a new state in the Greater Horn of Africa may fuel regional tensions. A recent Fafo and PRIO report, funded by Noref, reveals that neighbouring countries have a clear interest in contributing towards a peaceful transition in Sudan, but short-sighted policies may preclude the desired outcome. more
